Favorite Bible Verse
  • "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor power, nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39 NKJ)

My Philosophy of Education:
  • God. Education. Character. It is with fear and trembling that I cooperate with Him and with my serving brothers and sisters, our CLA staff and families, to present our children as "...vessels unto Honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, and prepared unto every good work." (2Tim 2:21 KJV)

About the Program

Picture
While holding to our Christian faith and values, we provide students with a well-rounded experience of the Performing Arts. Building on the elements of classical drama and vocal music, we utilize "play" to create a learning atmosphere that not only develops artistic talent, but also targets social growth and academic excellence through improving focus and concentration and teaching self-control and relaxation. Students learn basic stage direction, set, costume, and prop design through hands-on projects and present a final performance.

GAMES & EXERCISES IN:
Sensory awareness- using sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch to recall experiences, inspire ideas, and activate the imagination in order to evoke an emotional reaction.

Movement- physical movement as communication and  dramatic action.

Vocalization- breathing and projection, diction, intonation, pace, group/individual singing lessons, an introduction to choral music.

Characterization- the representation of the traits, motives, and psychology of a character.

Storytelling- oral, visual, digital, multicultural .
